History
In October 1949, Dr. Carl Jürgen Hogrefe published the first issue of the “Psychologische Rundschau,” the official journal of the German Association of Psychology, with the aim of establishing a new communication platform for psychology. The publishing companies that he approached with this idea thought that the financial risk involved was too great, and so the university assistant professor decided to establish his own publishing company.
